Geordie Lasses
Although previously existing, the British public have become more aware of the Geordie subculture after the launch of MTV show 'Geordie Shore'; a reality show featuring the outrageous behaviour of eight young Geordie people living in a house together. Geordie Lasses are a sub culture that is primarily influenced by women of a working class background who have succeeded in making a name for themselves, including those in the glamour industry. They also aspire to look like Hollywood pin-ups through means of fancy dress of a sexual nature. The dress code of these girls is made to inspire other female accomplices, as opposed to gain male attention.
Lookin' Mint
Geordie Fashion conveys the image that the lower the thermometer plunges, the less Geordie women wear. This is a 'survival of the fittest' contest designed to weed out weaklings (or southerners).
Both sexes take pride in their appearance and a fake tan is popular among lads and lasses. Whilst men are avid gym go-ers, women take pride in a more curvaceous silhouette.

1) Who would you say is your personal female icon in relation to career?

2) Who would you say is your personal female style icon and why?
Katie Price because she's confident with what she's got. Plus her clothes are quite current so they are easily available to young girls.

Beyonce or Kelly Brook. They're real women with real curves. They're so toned and stunning.

To be fair they're not far off. Obviously not everyone dress like this in winter, but I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I saw it on a night out.
7) How influenced are you by your friend's sense of style?
We all have individual tastes. We don't try to look like each other but we do shop in the same shops. We all want to look glamorous!
8) What would you say are your top two clubs in Newcastle, and why?
I would say Mushroom for the beginning of the night, then we normally head on to Digital. Especially on a Monday 'cause its student night- cheap drinks cheap entry!

11) Are you proud to be a Geordie Girl?
Without shadow of a doubt! Wouldn't change it for anythingMetro clothes Show
Ask a Geordie girl what her favourite shop is and she will say Lipsy. Ask a Geordie girl where her favourite place to shop is. The answer is the Metro Centre. Yet what they fail to mention, and perhaps the first thing a southerner may notice, is their outrageous love for fancy dress.
Oot On The Toon
Newcastle boasts a nightlife that is internationally known for being one of Britain's best party destinations. The city is compact and full of easy to reach bars. In the bigg market you can stagger from one bar to the next even if your wearing the highest of heels (which you most likely are). Most clubs charge an entry free and commonly play music of a chart/ house nature, though student nights are not a rare commodity. Drinks are much more cheaply priced compared to the Southern competitors.
Double-floored Digital sits in The Centre of Life and is a mere five minutes away from the popular Metro shopping Centre. Its capacity limit is impressive, allowing it to stand out from its competitors with some saying the size is simply representative of a 'Superclub'.
However, drink prices could be called extortionate in comparison to rival nightlife venues- Bar 42 offers a trebble spirit and mixer for only £2.20! Different themes occupy the venue nightly, with music adapting to match.
They also offer a variety of offers throughout the week such as an '80's student night'- a clever business ploy where entry and certain drinks are sold at 80 pence. The club is available for hire and open till the early hours of the morning, making it the perfect late night venue to carry on the party (once you've stocked up on trebles in Bar 42!) The night can always be finished off with a kebab from one of Newcastle's finest...
